Performing with Cold Sores
Hi Everyone,
I have a performance this Sunday, and I have woken up this morning with lots of cold sores in the crease of my mouth - you know the bit where your lips meet?
I usually give a great big grin when I'm tasseling, but thats not going to work as moving my mouth is very painful. Any suggestions on an alternative? I don't want to look grumpy or bored.

Get some antibacterial mouthwash and some zovirax cream and start using it straight away, make sure your mouth is always clean ;-). Hopefully they'll be gone by sunday and you won't have to worry about smiling!!!
DON'T GET STRESSED OUT ABOUT IT, THIS WILL ONLY MAKE THEM WORSE!!!
Hope this helps :-)

Sadly Angel used Zovirax Cream in the past and it made the coldsores worse! Thanks for your kind comments though.
Angel is looking at pouting instead of smiling at the moment, meanwhile I'm off to look for Teatree Oil. If anyone has any other ideas then please share them. Thank you.

You could try a mixture of Tea Tree and Sage oil but I would test for a reaction first as some people don't take to Sage oil very well. My mother reacts badly to Sage whereas I'm ok.
Myrrh in tincture form is a very good anti-bacterial as well you could use this as a mouthwash diluted slightly with water if you wish to try a more naturalish remedy. Dabbed over the cold sore could help too but be warned its taste is odd not disgusting but odd.

Definitely pout! If I were you I'd do a sort of cheeky pout where I pushed my lips to one side and looked up to one side as well, with lots of eyebrow raises at the audience!
It makes sense to me anyway ...

Thank you everyone. I have been mostly queit today as speaking is difficult with resticted mouth movements. Fleur thanks for the advise there, I am probably going to practice twirling my tassels later whislt mucking aroung with differant pouts to see which translates best. I'm worried about it not gelling with the rest of the act. I need it to fit in with the persona luckily I twirl at the end so hopefully can figure it all out.

Yes you could pout or smile with closed lips.
For the cold sores (I hate those bloody things they are evil), I recommend bee propolis cream, you get it in little tubes from Holland and Barratt, really soothing. I cant get away with Zorviaz or blistex or anything, too aggravating, but bee propolis is great. Also recommend, for prevention purposes, taking a supplement of L-Lysine each day (Holland & B again), really works to stop them, I used to get them regularly but dont now.
Hope things are better today hun, you could always clag makeup on them just for the performance.
