Show ideas.... nightmare!!!!!
Hi guys and dolls,
As you may or may not be aware i have a show in October and well i've had about 3 ideas for a show and so far am unsure what one to stick to! Plus with my money being a little tight at the moment all the ideas i've had have been rather costly plus i've got traveling cost to consider and overnight accommodation unless i don't drink and just drive back after the show....
But i was just wondering if anyone else problems deciding what show to do? I don't mind sharing my ideas as its probley already been done or someone will in the future do a slight copy of it, but as i'm sure someone has said to me before there are loads of balloon dances but everyone does them differently.
So let me know if you think i should tell you my ideas...

Just for you Sarah ;-)
1) Doll Routine: Doll box on stage with the plastic front to see me as a doll inside with the pink cheeks, blond curly hair and innercent dress that gets out the box like a robot in a sense due to the dollness of it and then slowly joints start working and the teasing begins.
Doll routine two: The same but without the box due to box being too expensive right now.
2) Housewife: Starts off with me as a vintage house wife, with the cardigan and pearls with the pencil skirt, dusting about the stage and then starts wiggling to the music and gets sexy with it, turning into a naughty housewife (most cheapest routine so far)
3) I want Candy routine: This works well with my name, i'd have my hair up in rollers with a net looking like i'd been baking with some powder on my face and my apron on and then start undressing to show some amazing pasties i have made for this act ;-) (this is properly rather cheap as well)
What do you think? xx

The doll one sounds fab. I'm sure the box doesn't have to be too expensive if you're at all crafty. I also think the motorised nipples pasties would work great with that routine (what with the doll being too stiff to jiggle and make 'em twirl herself). Obviously they probably would cost though, but could be added to the routine at a later date perhaps

hey candy
i love the idea of the musical wind up doll just because its not something i have seen before... making it original... unique..
the cleaner / old lady / housewife / laundretta type act is a staple in every burlesques repertoire - nice and easy !!
Candy sounds great too...show off those new pasties.
which one will you enjoy the most ?

The doll one i love and have been practicing that the most, but as i said just a min ago finding the music for it is rather annoying.
The candy one is ok too... just go's with my name better really.
I like my housewife one as well, they're all great in there own way.
But i think the doll one is my favorite at the moment as its one i've thought about for ages, the other two have been thought of the last couple of days.
Plus with the doll one i can add to it later.

my show ideas keep evolving all the time, they have a life of their own. Yours may well do too. My advice is go with a cheap show, at least then if your ideas change then it won't have cost you so much money.
Oh, and Vicky Butterfly (I think....) does a windup doll routine. I don't think it involves a box but I've never seen it.

I sam some photos of a male burlesque performer (I can't remember his name now, but he's a lovely fellow) who did an action man routine coming out of a big box with a plastic front. (It looked very good, and he had blue pants and a flesh coloured body stocking with the proper doll-like joints painted on the joints.)
I think the Candy one sounds fun, as Sarah says, it should be whichever one you enjoy doing most. I'd be slightly wary about doing the housewife one as there are quite a few people with similar acts and you might end up sharing the bill with another one. Perhaps take costumes for two acts just in case someone else is doing a similar one.
And good luck!
