Favourite burly films
In a follow-up to my recent books thread I though I'd get everyone's views on favourite films. Now we have a magical V+ box in our house I try and go through through all the old films for the week on TCM, etc so I can watch fab musicalness at my leisure.
What are the films you all love and give you inspiration?

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes was my ultimate girlie/burly film! It's got Jane Russel and Marilyn Monroe in it and I highly reccomend it as its really funny and has some great show tunes in it!!

films
Gypsy, Follies, Lady of Burlesque, Mae west for when im feeling cheeky. Oddly enough i draw inspiration from the strangest places. Political satires like mock the week and have i got news for you, day time telly, and even family guy.
( don't ask it involves a peta protest and a giant chicken )

I know it's not all that burly but I absolutely love Some Like It Hot! It's so funny, one of those vintage films which hasn't dated and is still great by today's standards, and of course who could say no to Marilyn Monroe and Tony Curtis?

i love some like it hot. I still havent seen Ladies of the Chorus because I can only find it as a boxset and dont want the others. Cabaret always wins hands down for me. That and the Blue Angel have been my biggest influences and Babara Windsor in the Carry On's.

Well today's film was Tonight and Every Night with Rita Hayworth, not one with the biggest numbers and flashiest costumes but definitely a nice film none the less. Keep 'em coming...
