University Society and a new audience dermographic?
Dear All,
Whilst I am a great fan of burlesque and cabaret performances and am actively involved in Cambridge University theatre never have these two interests collided.
The university has a long tradition of birthing acts and some of our societies have (rightly or wrongly) gained a semi-mythical status (naming no footlights).
The potential of starting up a Burlesque Soc. (CUBS - hmmm may have to look for a better acronym) appeals and I was wondering if we had any people who might be interested in giving us a helping/guiding hand. With the Annual May Balls, at teast two of whom hired burlesque dancers last academic year it could also be a way of opening up a new market and a new audience.
Thoughts?
Regards
V.

Hummm....
Hello my dearie
Currently I've found my self freshly graduated and itching to embark on new projects, since I was on the entertainments committee of my Uni,organising casino, cabaret, burlesque etc nights.
Also I am climbing up the glitter coated ladder that is burlesque (Perfoming at the Edinburgh fringe, London burlesque fest as well as landing a spot to audition for the ministry of burlesque itself in sept,to list a few of my expeditions ...)
Oh tis so much fun, hehe
So if you would like to collaborate and fuse ideas, simply buzz back!

Er, excuse me Miss HeatherSweet, the witch cracks the jokes on this forum, couldn't find one as funny as that though, not without making our budding priest blush, or getting the thread locked:-o But give me time.................

Sorry witchy. feel free to deliver the spanking.
im in a mood today had so much paper work to do the anti pc button kicked in. One of my favourite burly routines includes a maralyn manson track and a pious parisian in purple giving the ultimate sacrifice. ( fill in the blancs )
So i shall keep stum on this one. x Im off to give penance x
