Hold on a second whilst I climb up onto the roof!
MoB is shortly relaunching its production section which, as well as providing entertainment services to events and corporate clients will be furthering the development of Victorian Values.
What you saw last night was actually a work in progress. There are several characters who will be making an appearance in the next incarnation of the show, including Dusty Limits will be joining the cast as the enigmatic undertaker Malachy Donne.
The new production site will be live in the next week or so (we've got to finish the agency site first though). This will give details on how to get involved.

Gosh! Thank you all for coming along and giving such warming feedback - be careful what you say though as you might just encourage us!
Victorian Values has been a project that we have been working on for some time and our 2 night run at Hoxton Hall marks the project's premiere voyage in to the hitherto unknown.
As we all know, the modern American form is enjoying a glorious revival (in the states for over a decade and here for about 5 years now) but it is sadly little known that there is a much older form of burlesque (1830 - 1940) which has so far, gone ignored.
We felt that it was beyond time to give this form, the British burlesque a platform too. This is why we created Victorian Values and also why the show was focussed more on spoof characters, historical pastiche and political satire rather than striptease for it's own sake. I have an article on the history of burlesque and where the two forms meet and differ here, should anyone wish to know more.
(Also, if you look at the MoB agency, you can see that we make a clear distinction between traditional burlesque and burlesque striptease.)
Anyhoo, as a work in progress, the show will go on to become more elaborate and further developed and so this Hoxton Hall premiere is such a special show for us that we really appreciate all the support you guys have given and it'll be wonderful to get your thoughts on the show as it progresses.
As for getting involved, over the next 6 months or so we will be looking out for people to cast and as James has said, we have been focusing on theatrical production for some time and are about to launch the site to go with this progression.
Thank you all for your support of our some what experimental new piece!
Oh, and Dashy - 'Earl of Hackney' - pure genius.

Yay! I love the idea of it getting bigger, I was talking to Twinkle and Scarlet about how it was nice to see some traditional British burlesque!
I keep having to explain the difference to my friends who continually ask me if I'm going to be dancing around like Dita Von Teese......

I'm sure I don't know WHAT you mean, young Miss Westrop. Oh, alright, perhaps I am a tiny bit eccentric. It comes of spending years mired in the world of drama and storytelling,it's made me lose most of my grip on reality. Mind you, as I said to the lovely Davina, who was doing a better impression of a woman than most women, who needs reality?
I am incredibly excited about the possibility of some of us humble performers perhaps being involved in future shows! I tried to get something like this going at uni, for my original production module, but noone understood, they thought I was a wierdo. We did Music Hall as a module for my degree, everyone hated it but me, they all though it was hilarious that I loved it so much! Harrumph.
I'd love to see more British burlesque. It has a stronger link with music hall than American burlesque, although burlesque was of course introduced to America by British music hall star Lydia Thompson, in the first place. Something people don't seem to know, or forget. As much as I enjoy striptease burlesque, it would sometimes be nice to see something that engages the mind as well as other bits.

Just passing by to give a massive congratulations to everyone. I wish I could have come along, but alas often life gets in the way. I think you've found another niche and a fantastic way of showing another side of burlesque to the World
Good luck for tonight

We have just arrived back from another sold out night of Victorian Values and I can't explain how happy we are. First congratulations must go to Kittie who actually wrote the majority of the show. It's great to see an idea that has been running around in her head for so long come to fruition like this and get such a positive response.
Des O'Connor wrote the vast majority of the songs and in the casts opinion, he's certainly the most talented Des O'Connor in showbiz! Des is an invaluable asset to the Ministry Of Burlesque and I can't stress how lucky we are to have him involved with us.
The rest of the cast - Dashy, Red Sarah, Jim Devereaux, Vicky Butterfly, Fifi La Bombe, Ruby Rouge, Miss Diamond Blush are all stars and they proved it tonight. Most have been working on their character developments for months and if that wasn't enough, they also made their own costumes!
Big thanks also go to the enigmatic Man In A Hat and Angel Delight, whose invaluable input on the first night was a huge help. I know I shouldn't say this, but at one point Mr In A Hat actually removed his appendage for the first time ever. I only recognised him because of his massive lens!
I'd also like to thank the park bench and the rocking chair that I constructed which, thankfully, managed to stay together for the entire duration of the show! Oh - and I'd like to thank the kitchen sink too. Without it's valuable input we would not have had the clean mugs required for the coffee that was needed during the long hours of writing!
What's next for Victorian Values? Well we're going to get bigger and better. We've had some serious big-wigs check out the show, and again the reaction has been brilliant. As I mentioned previously, the show is a work in progress. Dusty Limits will shortly be joining the cast and we will be actively looking to recruit more people to the cause.
Anyway, I'm going to scoot now because I have to figure out where to put our new rocking chair and park bench! However I will sign off with a selection of emoticons that describe my current mood:
