Evening everyone, after having been a lurker for a while I decided to take the plunge and introduce myself!
I've signed in here as 'Miss D' and I hope that doesn't tread on anyone's toes... I have been known on other (non-burlesque) forums as 'Miss Demeanour' for years, however as I understand that there's a performer of that name, I didn't want to cause any confusion!
Anyway, I'm fairly new to burlesque, but have already been collecting a handful of lovely corsets and long gloves, which make me feel a million dollars. That 'faking it' programme a while back was superb (still have it on disc for rainy days - I was on the edge of my seat), and now I've recently finished several years worth of exams I now have the time to discover what else I'm interested in... Signed up to the forum to see who's who, what's on, where and when...
I have tickets for the August Candybox show in Birmingham - Can't wait to see Dirty Martini, amongst others. I myself am on the somewhat voluptuous side and think her website and you-tube offerings are a true inspiration. To follow on from a thread from a couple of days ago - of course big is sexy! sexy is a state of mind. Took me a long time to realise that, and even I have my unsure moments, but it's true. The boyfriend is now converted - thin girls who constantly worry about what they look like all evening just don't have enough
*fun*.
Anyway I've wittered for long enough. Would love to join in on a burlesque for beginners course - can't make the August one in Birmingham, unfortunately (will be coming back from a hectic weekend), but if there's one later on in the year, count me in!
