Opinions needed please!!
Hi everyone!
Meowface's thread has prompted me to get your advice about my name too but I didn't want to butt in on her thread. I've been performing under the name Scarlett Daggers for over a year and a half with my troop in Nottingham and although I think it's a great name I'm wondering whether it fits with the kind of performer I am and whether it will hinder where I want to go with my Burlesque career. The more I think about it the more fetish-based it sounds and I'm wondering whether to bite the bullet now and do something about it before I start performing elsewhere and it becomes too late. I know I definitely want to keep the Scarlett part but there's so many possibilities for the rest that I thought I'd get some expert opinions from you guys before deciding.
What do you think???

How would you describe yourself as a performer????
When I was choosing my name I thought about how I saw myself and how I wanted people to see me:
I came up with Lola Pops which is a take on lolly pops, I saw it a bit cutsey but a bit cheeky and fun too (I hope others think the same!!!)
Hope this helps!

Hi Honey
I think its a great name its also one that sticks in your head which is really important in the entertainment biz. Maybe its because I come from an art/performance background, its not just my other name its the name of my ultra ego and she has a past that I have made up for her, an attitude and a personality. These are the guidelines for the kind of performances that I make under that name. If this is not the kind of help that your name gives you then maybe your right and it is time to change it.
Maybe it would be helpful to write down who Scarlet Daggers is, age personality all those things and if that does not add up to the kind of performer idea you want. Write another list of the traits you want and that will help you come up with your new name.
Hope that is some help.

Yeah I've trying to think that way too. Trying to think of something unique, maybe a play on words but that still sounds good is making my brain hurt!
The last performance I did was quite a sultry number to some old saxophone jazz but the joint work I do with my troop is quite cheeky and mischievious, I'd like to be seen as a hot n sexy performer but don't we all!
I'm just waiting for inspiration to strike. Maybe I should experiment with some mind bending hallucinagenics to speed up the creative process!

If you cant get hold of any of that you could try a mind map that works for me. You write out your start word and then from that write all the words that it makes you think of and then the same from them. Does that makes sense its easy to do but not describe lol.

I love your name! I like the daggers bit. But maybe thats just because I'm a dirty goffik.
If you ditch it may I consider stealing the surname? haha.

If it goes you can have it honey. Throw some alternatives my way then!
I've had some suggestions already.....
Scarlett Winks
Scarlett St. Rip
Scarlett Sottise (it's French for mischief - apparently)
None of it's sinking in anymore. It's all just words!

I can't say those three roll off my tongue, but that might just be me - they all look nice in print though.
What about Scarlett Shadows? I like a bit of alliteration, and it keeps a bit of the darkness without being too goth!
