Birmingham Burlesque

hi my sweetie-pies,

bit of dumb question to ask....but any good burlesque performance places in Birmingham...have mates there and want to shock them by inviting them somewhere...somewhere I could possibly perform....or watch...

The place to watch Burlesque in Birmingham is The Candy Box at The Glee Club. Their next event is August 27th and is called Yankee Doodle Candy.

The stage will be packed with talent as usual, and it seems like the audience will be full of talent aswell.

Sometimes the Fetish club Scarlet have burlesque performers... Google (or blackle.com) 'Scarlet Fetish Birmingham' and that should point you in the right direction. x

I think that Scarlet is trying to move away from Burlesque acts and more towards Fetish acts, but I'll give you a link for their website if you wish to check it out.

I know that the Rock and Metal club, Subculture, will be doing a Burlesque night at some point, but unless you are into that kind of music and are happy to wait about 30 minutes between acts it's probably a no go.

Birmingham is actually quite dead for Burlesque. Nottingham has a few clubs going like The Pitty Pat Club and Shangri-La.

I've been doing some research for when I move to Brum. I heard that the Boho Rooms (a strip club) have regular burlesque nights. There's also Diamond Rendezvous. I don't know where it is but it's in Brum. The website is a bit vague

Diamond Rendezvous is no longer running. There was a troupe who where hoping to take over the venue, but that's completely fallen apart. In fact I think there is only 2 members of the troupe left, out of the original 7.

Boho is nothing more that a (s)lapdancing club.

The only thing around brum is the Candybox, which is a great night.

But it would be nice if the Brumie burlesque girls could get together and do something for when Candybox is not on.
