Yay! Good luck! Where are you performing?
I get terrible nerves and stage fright, bordering on full on panic attacks at times, but everyone says they can never tell, cos I've learnt through my drama training to use that energy and channel it into my performance to make it lively and sparky. Also being an actor helps cos I can just cover up all my nerves and pretend to be all cool and confident! That usually gets me through x

thank you
thank you. I guess having fun with it is probably the best way to tackle it and I'm sure I'll be fine on the night. It's a new event in Portsmouth called Cinnamon Champagne. Who knows; after this ; where it may lead!

Yep, use your nerves! If you're feeling like you're going to be sick just before you go on, it's a good thing! The nerves can give you enough adrenaline to carry you through the performance and do it better than you did in your rehearsals - as long as you're not overconfident! I find that the energy I get through nerves pushes me to make my set moves bigger and better, but I have to restrain myself so I don't overbalance!

I always get bad nerves before performance but recently I've found they have calmed down abit (touch wood!)
I find the best thing to do is to have some alcohol (tho don't get drunk like I sometimes do before performance lol!)
And also deep breathing, enjoy yourself, thats what you are there for and do your best!
Let us know how it goes

I agree - have a couple of drinks but don't get really drunk.
Also speaking to the other performers usually helps because you find out that they are all as nervous as you are!

I wouldn't recommend drinking at all personally, but then I'm a lightweight and I find that even one affects my balance and coordination somewhat

I am going thru exactly the same nerves, I am performing at The Slippery Belle on Wednesday and although it's not my 1st ever performence it's my first in front of a big crowd!!!
I'm absolutely terrified that I'm either going to fall over or lose a pastie!!!!!!
I'm going to have 1 glass of wine before I go on just to calm my nerves, any more than that and I'm likely to be sick on the audience!!!!!!
Good Luck anyway hun!!!

Drink! (feck, arse). Sorry, been watching Father Ted.
I have one drink, max 2. It helps, but make sure you know your drinking self, and dont drink anything you are not used to (thinks of one night trying red wine for the first time), just incase you discover too late that one sip of WKD or whatever gets you polatic! And I will be there to hopefully help! Will do a funny dance or something to take your mind of it lol!
