I can't see a mention of a Diamond Blush on either of the links - am i being blinded by the lack of burlesque related material on each? or has the DB name been removed?
I can't quite see what it is they actually do either, come to think of it. Seems to be a singer and some women in lingerie ( i don't see troupe info, numbers or names), hosting something in Blackpool. It seems rather vague.
Like many websites these days, I really wish people would specify their craft before laying claims to it.
All this vague 'retro-ish' themed cabaret has nowt to do with the form of burlesque....
Anyway, it seems odd that one person would contact a performer (Our Miss Diamond Blush) whom they don't know to inform her of a potential name clash with someone else, then promise to rectify it on the behalf of a stranger (Our Miss Diamond Blush) and then renege on the promise because the third party (Other Diamond Blush) is not complying to the arrangement between the two others.
It seems like a strange way to run a troupe - was this person who contacted you, in fact, the troupe leader? Or just perhaps accidentally creating an issue where perhaps there might not have been one?
Either way, it must be a bit embarrassing for them to appear so inconsistent and at odds with each other.
As far as i can see, being registered on the MoB performer list (see menu) and having a url (which demonstrates some evidence of the longevity of a product or brand) is as good as you can get officially without registering at Companies House or buying official Registered TM status etc.
Of course plain old fashioned full blown fame tends to give credibility too - for the lucky quotient who make it big.
Anyway, from official MoB HQ, I can state that Miss Diamond Blush has been a vital part of the MoB community since it began online and she has actually been working with us for about a year - and so we know that she has had the name for at least that length of time.
As our dedicated stage manager, emerging stage talent in her own right and MoB Commare (lady with MoB clout) we can certainly vouch for her as a known name in the burlesque scene.
To the best of our knowledge, there have been no others before her with this moniker.
More reason for you all to add yourselves to the register as mentioned above - the MoB website is the leading online resource of information worldwide for burlesque. Use it well.
