How would you describe burlesque?
Im trying to explain it to my father, as I've got a show friday, and he seems to think it's full-on stripping, and that the spectators are perverts. So, pretty much, I need some help .

why not pick a few choice performances off youtube and SHOW your papa what burlesque is!

I think it's a natural parental reaction, my mum flipped out at the idea of me even going to workshops!!

same here. My mom even asked me if people would end up offering me roles in PORN MOVIES! I keep trying to tell & show her, it's all about the TEASE...taking off the costume is secondary compared to the performance presence and everything...

Wow I guess my mom is pretty open minded about the whole thing because I told her that I would be attending a workshop in July and she was really interested in going with me. Then again my hubby says that my family is weird anyways. I agree that you should show him a couple of videos so that he could see for himself. now i my mom and I haven't told my father though.
