That's fab Mr. I J! I am excited for you!
It's a good idea to pick a loose theme, to refer to and talk about - is the event themed? Create some commonality with your audience.
Make some notes on the performers and make jokes about their reputations (in good taste or friendly jibes), also double-entendres about the routines always work etc.
If in doubt get some amusing books (I have used ones with Victorian limericks and sex advice from Victorian physicians) and they seem to be good for quick dips - boomboom.
Thing to actually worry most about is talking TOO LONG!
We have seen some truly awful hosts in action who, out of nerves or lack of awareness or whatever, came across as either tedious or patronizing and mad the audience feel uncomfortable.
Keep is light. witty and short and appear as relaxed as possible.
Be clear in speech and make eye contact, use physical gestures and be familiar yet commanding.
If you can plan ahead, why not theme a costume or props you can use and comment on?
Maybe you, yourself could emerge 2nd half with a routine?
Or host a competition? Give out naff prizes? Give out sweets in a frenzy, to fast vintage music - as if in a Buster Keaton movie?
Break a Leg!
