Routine help
As may be obvious from my name and picture, I'm obsessed with cherries, and I've been playing around with the idea of a cherry-themed routine. I've thought of a song, and I'm having some cherry print tassels and a mini topper with cherries on it made for me (thank you Daiquiri!), but I'm a little stuck on props. Can anyone think of anything? All I can come up with is giant cherries, and I have no idea how I'd make them. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

You could always try red balloons with green stems made of card (or those long thin balloons than balloon modellers use). Something along the 'life is a bowl of cherries' line?
Or maybe you could be the 'cherry on top' of something?

I'll have a jiggle at the old neurons, but for now what about having dangling cherries, made out of wee pom poms, instead of traditional tassles? Also what song were you planning on using?

ur entrance could be climbing (gracefully) out of a cherry pie! Do they make cherry pies? demonstrated by cherries falling out around you... if they don't make them I think they ought to - i feel the need to investigate!

Or you could toy with the idea of using yoga balls as cherries. There are plenty of creative ways to use them on stage and make stems (MDF, card, other performers...)

i say fashion some cherries out of chicken wire and modrock! they'll be hard to transport but you'll have a proper cherry affect then?

Don't know about props, but I noticed that in Claire's Accessories today they have cherry print arm-warmers. They are pretty than they sound (!) with ribbons and lace.

Wow! great ideas everyone. I quite like the idea of balloons, that might be quite simple, as I'm not too good at the whole arts and crafts thing.
The song I was thinking of was Cherry Pie, which I think is by Warrant, so the pie idea is pretty good too!

I've got a cherry underbust corset for sale if you are interested, that would complete the outfit! it's a 20 inch waist one...PM me if you're interested.
I bought it for an act last year, but then the act evolved into a strawberry pic-nic...so the corset has hardly been used.
Remember that Red Sarah does an act with cherries, but I believe she uses fans as props...
There's a brilliant rockabilly band called Jack rabbit Slim who do a song called Cherry Pie, you can find them on myspace.
hope this helps x

indeed
cherrybombola - this little french minx is obsessed
with cherries , she expertly strips each layer of the
cherry madness whilst dancing with a Giant 4 foot
balloon.
popcherrytastic finish....
no one has ever asked for this act so i always end up wearing my cherries when doing my fan dance.
i am still developing it and hope to build a cherry like rocking chair - in my dreams..
my husband seems to think he could make it for me only problem is transporting them...
how do people transport their big props ?
you carry on though don't worry about miffing me. x x x : )
