Hi all,

I'm planning a day trip to London soon to see a friend and I want to go see the vintage markets and hopefully find a bargain on a cavalry jacket.

I have no idea where in London would be best to find this stuff.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

camden (back of teh stables market) has quite a few vintage shops.
portabello market
brick lane, and off the side of brick lane there's a huge vintage shop called BEYOND RETRO. they have a website if you need directions.
THE GIRL CANT HELP IT inside alfies antique market, sorry only been once and cant remember where i found it but they have a website too.

someone has told me there is a vintage clothing fair in clapham on sunday at the clapham grand but i cant find anything more about it so if you or anyone else on here does please let me know.

the only fair i know at Clapham Grand is the London Alternative Fair
which is a Fetish fair and is on the first sunday or the month (this sunday)
i do go to this one regular and can recommend it for being very good and friendly.
Another is London Fetish fayre near st pauls on Love Lane which is always on the secong sunday of the month.
another great meeting/shopping fayre.

last time i was down i didnt end up buying anything as it was so much more expensive than the shops in Edinburgh! Hopefully this time i'll find some good stuff!

Now Berlin - that place is a dream to go vintage shopping! One of my friends was staying over there for a year and I went over and he took me round all the pay by weight vintages shops (you can get a kilo of stuff for 13 euros ish) and flea markets (i got a skirt for 50 cents and loads of neckties for 50 cents / a euro each). YUM

Also Camden passage Islington, great but pricey.

There is a fabulous vintage shop called Blackout on Endell Street, which is in Covent Garden area. You'll find quite a few other vintage shops in that area too. The Girl Can't help it is in Alfies Antiques MArket, 13-25 Church St. I think the nearest tube there is Edgware Road.
