I think it depends how confident you are with varying your act enough to hold audience attention. Since I tend to use Vegas Grind tracks (which average about 2 and a half minutes) I usually string it together with another track. I find that using more than one track can vary the tempo and atmosphere of your act, thus helping to hold audience attention AND provide you with enough time to both 'set the scene' and take all of your layers off!
