When i saw the Puppinis in Nottingham I wasnt dissapointed, they were really gorgeous and warm with the crowd and didnt miss a note. It was a small venue so i think that helped the atmosphere but I can see why people would get tired of the formula of covers done in that style. Theyre bloody talented though! Their band were brilliant too and they didnt seem to be visible at the Variety Show which was a shame, there were all these naff dancers around them instead which was dissapointing. Their band were lots of rather tasty young men in 40s clothing (hats and braces mmmm!) and you cant beat seeing someone playing a big bass live!

I saw James Morrison too, i believe the video to that song also features the dancing girls (rather incongruously) perhaps its a bit of cashing in on the current popularity of burlesque....or maybe he's making a statement who knows?! I must admit i find him dull dull dull!

Did anyone see the Puppinis on morning tv? I had a text first thing form my boyfriend crapping on about them but i missed it.

Once youve heard one Puppini Sisters song, youve heard them all unfortunately, which is a massive shame as theyre getting rather popular.

Ah well, its all in the good name of entertainment, folks!

Default chocs for scots

Strangly enough i was awake before noon and caught them on loraine kelly singing jingle bells and presenting her with a box of chocolates.
... and there on this morning sometime this week... i do watch some crap ..... speaking of.

i was playing salon last night and managed to catch the royal variets though i'm not a royalist its worth a watch.
morrison kinda looks like a young cris from coldpaly but better sounding.

I like the puppinis because they manage to do some tricky technical work there not wow but i'm easily impressed -

as is my workmate dan with the sisters so i'm gonna set off to the greenroom and stick there c.d on ... followed by xmas classics.

i missed this...

i enjoyed a programme the other night, best of the royal variety over the years...

featuring all the memorable acts

nookie (that freaky bear)

some amazing girls spinning tables on their feet

more amazing girls whizzing around/doing acrobatics on bicycles

and some absolute horror of an over tanned muscle man with a perm, in a THONG doing a trapeze/flying through the air routine

you should've seen my boyfriend's face when he saw it! lol

I only caught the first hour or so of this which included the sisters and spamalot. Then I changed the channel because CSI Miami was on and I find that more interesting. I am sorry to have missed the puppets and there "for porn" singing.

Avenue Q was another reason we (ie me and Mr Deirdre) stuck with BBC1 last night. We saw it a few weeks ago and we absolutely loved it.

They did three numbers but very very sadly, none of them was The Internet is For Porn. Shame, I'm sure Camilla would have loved it (she even looks like Trekkie monster!)

I saw the 1st half, Tim Curry made me sad, I really loved him when I was a kid, that Spamalot was rubbish and went on for so long!! I love the Puppini Sisters, but I thought they looked bored and their performance wasn't the best. Meatloaf also disappointed, I think he's fab and was thinking about seeing his tour next year, but he was out of breath halfway through the 1st song. Not good.
Omid Djalili was good, and I think I'm becoming a Take That fan (help someone please).
So all in all, yet another Royal Variety show that needs some Variety

Whuuuu? uh....
I gotta watch more tv...
I did watch CSI though. I am a CSI gal. I like the banter and the men in vests. Of which there are many.
Yes! Go, contaminate that crime scene!
Anyway. I saw the Puppinis in Glasgow. I think they put a lot of effort in, and people loved them. I enjoyed it; but I was absolutely reeking. I like the Andrew Sisters though. Although, yes, I think it's about time they wrote some songs of their own, as there some songs on the album that are a little bland and lacklustre.
And that James Morrison guy....
seriously. I don't know how to use a flame thrower yet, but when I do, when I do......

Kitty & angel - i know what you mean about CSI. I always make a little impressed 'hmmp' noise when they do their fancy camera do-whacky dutch angles to show you up the noses of the actors as seen from the evidence's point of view.

If you know what I mean. The evidence seems to look up their noses and silently mock the investigators, as they stand :? around scratching their heads and going tut-tut-hmm-maybe.

As for the Spamalot thing - I thought this was disappointing. For me it lacked the essential ingredients of what made MP and THG fabulous - i.e. the understated absurdity and shoe-string production values which were even worked into the comedy. I found the 'broadway' style interpretation to be really up it's own end instead of genuinely funny for funny's sake.

I'd like to see Wicked though.

We also thought that Meatloaf seemed a bit tired and really flat in his singing. Jamelia was great and all round it was good to see the olde devil on stage 'rocking on'. He is a true showman and seems like a nice man too.

Anyhoo, on with the Simpsons! The movie is due out next July.
