Default my great grandfather, the entertainer

may not be strictly burlesque, but i came across this website
Silhouette artist's info

on silhouette artists of which Hubert Leslie -
my (english) great grand father -was.

and in my opinion one of the best and most inventive!!

he carried on the tradition of silhouette cutting in the studio on the West Pier way back when it was still bustling

i love that hes on this website, but they never show his most beautiful and intricate work.

most of it is in the national portrait gallery

heres one of jean forbes as peter pan for a play

he was also a children's party entertainer, balancing an array of objects either on his nose or on a piece of string he held.

this has made me want to scan in his beautiful trees and leaves pictures and put them on the net myself.

my favourite pic is the ones of mermaids or mythical creatures.

in short, he rocked. i wish i could have met him.

Wow, your great grandad sounds rather spiffy. That pic is gorgeous, he certainly was inventive.

Hmm... my great uncle is Joel McCrea, he acted in a bunch of westerns back in the day.

Aside from that...nothing much! I must have a look and find out!

Also, i agree with Kittie, your great grandad would be very proud of what you've acheived so far!
