Regional Forums
Given the rapid spread of the UK Burlesque scene, I was wondering if we should create some region specific forums which concentrate on the scene in certain areas.
I was initially thinking of creating a London, SE, SW, NE, NW and a midlands forum to replace the current 'Events & Clubs' forum.
What do people think about this idea? Am I trying to crack a walnut with a sledgehammer or not?

How about having regional sections within Clubs and Events.
It would be a mistake to remove the general Clubs and Events forum section for many reasons i.e. when people go there to find out whats on, would it be helpful to have to check each region one by one, or the latest chatter :?
Alternatively, we could have a regional forums sections for all things to be discussed and moderated by someone from each region.
I don't see why you'd want to limit regional chat to events/clubs. People might want to talk about local stores and people as well as clubs and some regions don't have clubs and events.
What about having forums sections for US and Europe too?

Hi Guys,
I think splitting the forums down a bit would be a great idea, especially by regions, countries etc! I think thou it would only be relevant on 'Events and Clubs' as 'Burlesque lovers chat' is relevant mostly to all over the place!
Maybe 'burlesque lovers chat' could be broken down into others sections to make finding old posts and relevant posts easier? e.g costume/props info, general chat, act help/advice, etc?
When new people join the site and post things I often try to point them to old post with certain information in, however, I sometimes have problems trying to find them. . .

I definitely like the idea of listing the region, and especially country. I am in the US and there really isn't anything like this around. It is a wonderful resource and I think we would all get fuller usefulness from it if we were to list or check off a box that indicates WHERE we are!
Fabulous idea.
I think the most efficient thing would be to create an extra "subject" line which will show the region/country (if we can type in the locale then we can indicate city and country).

I think it would all get too filddley and itty bitty. I love catching up with whats going on but as a vey busy person I don't think I could cope with checking out any more sections, but I like to see what our friends are up to all over the country. I think Kitties idea was good

Hi,
I would like to third that motion! It would be handy to know that one is speaking to people in their locale.
It's very exciting that it is spreading far and wide!

Personally, I don't like the idea all that much. It would make it a bit more fiddly and I know that I'd probably never end up looking in the NW section for example which would be a pity because I might miss something very exciting. If everything is in one place I can go 'Ohh - that looks fun - I might just have to book a ticket to Portsmouth/Bristol/Edinburgh etc' whereas if things are seperated I'll probably just never bother to even look.
I do however, like Miss Blush's idea of archiving according to topic - it can take along time to find stuff you're looking for otherwise.

Maybe a drop down list offering different topics for the user to select. then a search or selection option if users want to filter by an idividual topic instead of seeing the complete list?
This could also work on the regions/countrys. allow people to view all posts but also the option of filtering the posts by different regions from a drop down list?
