Dita review
Anyone going to be brave enough to speak their mind about last night's Dita Von Teese show then?
Not wishing to offend any fans out there but I really don't think two ten minute routines justifies an entry price of £25 or was particularly fair on all those people who stood around with not much to do for three hours.
I did wonder how she was going to pull off a one woman show - and unfortunately she didn't.
She's very good at what she does, the costumes and props were fab and she moves beautifully, but it just didn't work for me.
Sorry to be so negative on a Monday morning, but I'm feeling a bit ripped off.

I know what you mean. What she did was fantastic but I was especting at least 3 routines from her and a little less waiting between the routines. I was also a little disapponted by the number of people wearing jeans.
Still, the champagne glass routine was very very good.

dita's show
Well, I was just going to post and ask who went to the show and what they thought of it. I was at home feeling sorry for myself because I was the one who didn't get to go to the ball ' '. Still, I would have loved to see her perform again from the other side of the stage.
Sorry to hear you didn't have a good time though.

I wasn't there either, but Lexy Van Gosh tells me she thought Catherine D'Lish was better. . .

The Puppini Sisters did a couple of short sets and some other burlesque lady who wasn't introduced did a short routine. Most of the night consisted of waiting for something to happen.

dita
I loved her performance but the time between acts and not really being sure what was happening next thing was a bit annoying. it finished too late to get teh last tubes so i had to spend £30 on a taxi back to croydon. glad i saw her for my first taste of live burlesque but got targeted by every creep in camden was really blind in the club and had a huge row with a friend who now doesn't want to know me. and to top it off my feather fan broke! i quit clubbing its too much hassle!
i was also too short to see much and during the last act all i could see was dita's head and feet up in the air!
Who was the other performer?

we waited for ages, i couldn't see a thing (why is everyone so tall when you're only 5ft, hehe) so i just ended up getting drunk and now i can't remember the rest of it anyway! really dissappointed.
the nice thing about the evening is that i met some very lovely people with gorgeous shoes.

ditas performance
Hello!
I would of loved to see dita perform, but for some reason apart from being exstreamly beautiful and having great props she dosent really get me going as a performer. As i live in birmingham, i didnt feel it was worth traveling down for. That sounds terrible, i know, but i respect her greatly, but for me its all gone abit mainstream. Bring on the obscure hurrah!

I know it sounds sacreligious but I actually kind've agree. She is certainly beutiful and has good command of the stage and so forth, and here routines are absolutely perfectly executed and quite fantastic, but it just seems very far removed from my idea of burlesque. There's not a great deal of humour and certainly no parody - nor is there much narrative in her routines. Still, I'm glad I went, and she has undeniably done a great deal to raise awareness of burlesque so you've got to give her that! It just would've been nice if the whole show were put together a bit better and that we got to see more of Miss Teeese.
