Default Has it or hasn't it been done?

I'm currently getting my sexy ass into gear and coming up with show ideas, the thing is i dont really wanna copy anyone and i'd like to come up with new show's. the problem is how do i go about finding if they've already been done?
i'd like to start a new show off, but if i just put it on my website someone could nick it and claim they started it, i dont mind people using my show's but i'd like them to know i started it off, if u see what i mean?

Love you all!

Default New Show Ideas

Research, research, research - google, do whatever you have to - ask people. Then, when you think you've done enough and you can't find anything like it, as the Canadians say 'Give 'er!' Don't forget that today it's rare that an idea is original - someone's either already had it or is going to have it - there's so many of us and only so many orginal ideas to go around in this great big world so inevitably, there's going to be great minds thinking alike.''

Hi there,

I am currently trying to put together a number of acts. . . it is difficult to decide what to do. . but. . . I don't think that you can ever come up with exactly the same idea as someone else! there will always be something different!

Unless you go to a burlesque evening and think hey I like that i am going to go and copy that exactly! music, costume, moves, etc etc. . . you will always be different!

You may use a similar costume to someone else. . . . but different music. . . . different moves. . . . different type of character. . . or visa versa!

there are so may different ways of doing one thing!

Just decide what YOU are good at and what YOU like and then form your acts around that! chances are someone might have a similar act but it wont be the SAME at you because you are different and fabulous in your own way!

Sorry thats my 2 pence worth hope it helps!

Miss Blush x

Absolutely, at the end of the day one corset, or glittery necklace is much like another if you think about it, it's the details that make them special and individual.
I think ideas from history, props funny situations and fab costumes often work the best.
there are too many dull acts with no story or pizazz, we are too jaded as a culture to be thrilled by the sight of a lady merely taking her kit off, especially if it's just nice undies from anne summers there's got to be something special going on, a bit of show girl!
Loads of costume designers and props makers are gagging to have a go at making something fabulous and unusual so why not team up with a designery type and see what ideas they can throw in? I'd suggest theatre design students, having been one myself I know what mad ideas they have!

I like to think of my favorite things. For example Honey. My first act was a striptease covering myself in honey and licking it off my fingers and things. That went really well. Now Im working on my Halloween act which is great fun as I just love all the old black and white horror movies and they are really inspirational.

Just have fun with it.

Honey, nice. sticky, very sticky! but nice :-)
i'd like to of seen that!

But yeah story's should always be with act's, all my idea's are basically story's, there is just a story behind everything, it's basically like sexy acting. I think thats alot better, its so much more fun.
I think you feel more friendly with the person performing on stage as well, if u see what i mean.

And yeah i need to find some design students that would be very handy! Gonna have to look into that, because some prop's i want i think are gonna have to be made, i tryed to look up everything i need last night on google and i couldn't find to much with what prop's i need, so yeah that would be great.
Thanks for the advice people.

So excited thinking about these idea's! i love coming up with shows and getting all the costumes together etc, its then the next big step for me actally going out there and finding somewhere to perform it and performing it.

I think i'd be good at it, but still alittle body shy. I'm sure that'll go once i get into it.

:-) xx
