Ok basically i'm new to this, i'm getting my own website up soon with photo's of me all burlesque and pin-up. But i really want to get into doing show's, I live in norwich and there seems to be no work shops near me or clubs etc, i feel that if i wanna make it or do things like that i need to move to london. I love london anyway, but its a big thing because well london is big. plus i dont no anyone there and i dunno just a risky thing but could be a mega life changing thing as well!

I've been asked recently on castlist to go to london and do this late night tv show where u just dress sexy and get people to call in etc. it pays well so i could buy loads of great costumes etc. But i just dont know if thats like the way to go etc.

Out of interest - is that for Babestation? I get e-mails from them all the time from casting call pro (which weirdly, is a completely straight acting site, nothing burlesque/modelling etc about it) asking me if I'm interested. I get the impression they scour loads of casting sites, spotlight etc looking at girlies headshots, and ask randomly.

Re Babestation: It's owned by a much larger company called CellCast who own quite a few TV Channels.

Kittie is actually starting to present a weekly one hour TV show on one of their newer channels called Sumo TV (http://www.sumo.tv). It's nothing to do with naked ladies though, it's all about viral video clips.

It's quite a good deal for us because they've given us quite a bit of creative control and Kittie can feature whatever she wants and also bring in whichever guests she likes.

However, this is not the standard CellCast contract and there was quite a bit of negotiation involved.

Thanks James - thats really interesting as the e-mails never use that company name, but a few different names that all mention babestation and the fact that you will be presenting in your underwear! I'm wondering if it is actually the same company, and indeed actually babestation itself, as the obvious choice for casting is somewhere like castlist (and getting bee-yootiful people like Kittie), rather than randomly hitting casting call pro actors (with moody looking headshots like mine) where I get straight acting work for fringe, film and theatre in education tours etc.

yeah i thought a few people would get those sent to them. The thing is kittie is rather famous, i'm not.

Someone said to me, well its a start and will get u noticed, but would it be for the wrong reasons? as i wanna do burlesque shows. i'm fine doing stuff like that as its not nude. and plus it's good money, i'd just use that money to buy outfits for shows and stuff.

Actually, I don't think that a show on Cellcast is really the kind of thing that would get you noticed and appearing naked on some of the stations like BabeStation can actually be detrimental to any future TV career.

Kittie is doing her own show on Sumo.TV for a number of reasons.

1. No nudity involved. Kittie will be presenting video clips and live burlesque acts.

2. It's great presenting experience. Nearly every day we're getting enquiries from TV companies who want Kittie to be involved in various TV projects. Sumo TV provides a good, low pressure environment for her to polish up her presenting skills.

3. It's a good way to drive people to this site too.

Nuts of it is that it's a fun gig as long as you don't rely on it to 'get you noticed'.

Yeah if it was doing somthing like kittie is doing that would be great. i wish her all the luck, not that she needs it.

But for now i think i'd give somthing like that a miss, its not for me. I wanna do work shops and get up on stage and perform. i still think i'll prob have to move to london, then i can just go to shows whenever i like, but here in norwich i have to see when i can get down there and maybe book a day off work etc.
