Burlesque Website Tips

I'm constantly being asked for tips on how to improve peoples websites and so I thought that I'd open a new section of MoB which was devoted to improving your profile online.

I'm going to give people tips on the best (and cheapest) hosting packages, ways to drive traffic to your site, good free software packages, potential pitfalls and much more.

If anybody has any ideas on what they would like to see in this section then post it here.

Web design needn't cost a fortune!

i am now glued to this thread !
all that sounds uber usefull plus.
i would like to know how to get decent looking video and maybe some tunes. on my site.

i love the slideshows at my space, any way of doing that with our galleries here on the MOB ?

Cool - although when I set it up it will be as a separate self-contained section of the site. This thread is simply for ideas on what people want.

I'll write an article about this - there are several ways to do it and several pieces of software that make the job easy.

Yes - all images automatically become a slideshow - just click the slideshow button and it'll cycle through your pix automatically.

I'll also write an article about easy ways to create slideshows on your own sites.

Ain't that bloody typical! Less than 24 hours after I deleted the article, it's needed.

I'm actually going to replace this section with a new section on how you can use Ministry Of Burlesque to make money from your own website.

It's possible to syndicate ANY of our content onto your own sites, however I would need to write a tutorial first.

Therefore, by big plan is to create a sort of 'white-label' burlesque site which people will be free to install on their own webhosts and it'll do everything that's needed to pull our content feeds and also let you update the site yourself.

Because we've also launched our advertising service, you'll also be able to make money in the same way as google ad-words.

That sounds amazing! Thanks James! I do still need advice on Web Hosting in that I have a few people I could use to web host, but I know you did have a few others there that might be better....
any chance of just listing your recommendations and I'll just go and compare them myself?!

Ah wonderful!

This will really make the MOB a 'one-stop-shop' as it were!!

Great idea James, I've been looking for something like this for ages as my webpage skills are about as advanced as Fred Flinstone's (and even then I think that's being a bit harsh on poor old Fred!!!!)
