Default What to wear?

Hello. A question: having found that, with a little time and money, one can find exciting evening wear quite easily, and choosing what to wear seems quite simple, but what to wear during the day? Surrounded by a sea of denim and trainers I want to express myself, but I don't want to look like I'm off out for cocktails 24/7 (as appealing as that actually is, it's just not realistic!). Any advice? Any wonderful websites? Of course you do.

Hello Miss Peachy,

http://www.pinupgirlclothing.com/

Very popular website with stunning clothes and shoes.

I find that I have quite a selection of 3/4 skirts and cute shirts and tops that i like to mix and match. The way, I think, to make it look different is to go for really unusual skirts and trousers with plain well cut tops. Contemporary fashion tends to be the other way around. Also, almost all my clothes are bought for pennies from charity and thrift shops with the odd over budget vintage item thrown in for good measure.

To finish off any normal looking outfit, throw on a scarf (please not stripey!) some cute shoes and a clutch. All of which can be bought at your local Barnardos/Childline/MarieCurie for a couple of pounds.

Get some pics of your new outfits so we can all have a sneaky peak :-D

Busty

i've just started manufacturing a range of 40's/50's style girls jeans. high waist, side zip, straight wide leg in authentic dark denim. also doing very tight stretch denim skinny jeans with zips on the leg.

i'll have professional pics on the website soon but if anyone is interested and keen, i'll snap a few wit me digi camera field telephone juke box thingy! :0)

take care,
Pete

I suggest trawling the thrift shops or out of the way antique markets.you'd be surprised as to what you can find to create the perfect vintage outfit and reasonably priced too. A scarf, a beret, a belt, old jewelry can all help to dress up that plain old dress.accessorize, accessorize, accessorize! I can proudly say that the majority of my vintage clothing/costume bits/jewelry is from thrift shops or antique markets. Happy Hunting doll!

I have got quite a few of my outfits from Ebay but I have found some amazing outfits at charity shops at a quarter of the price.

Dive into the clothes bins at the chartity shops there are lots of vintage tresures to to found in them.

www.daddyos.com wedsite is fab never seen that before. Really cute dresses
I have found second hand markets are great for outfits. I have found some great pieces at bargin prices.
I have found that charity shops and markets have really been bumping up the prices these days so have to shop around alot more. I usually befriend a stall holder and get him to save all his best stuff.

Charity Shops! Ebay! Vintage clothing stores! (I'm very lucky to have quite a selection of great vintage clothing stores to choose from here in Edinburgh- guess it just depends on how much you want to pay for second-hand clothes.
I often find selective purchases from High Street shops like Topshop, Miss Selfridge or H & M can be mixed in as is, or modified quite nicely. Although I'm really bad for never throwing anything out, much to the chagrin of everyone I live with, my parents and the guys who help me move house!
