what glue do i use?!
i'm wanting to stick some diamontes black on my costume, some of them didn't survive the drycleaning but i was quite surprised that not that many came off, i thought it was going to be a lot worse.
i went into john lewis and the women pointed me to some glue but it just looked like pva glue and i think i was probably expecting something a little more like super glue?
so i was thinking i should ask you ladies since your more likely to be the experts! what glue should i be using? can you recommend a brand that i can look for and where can i get it?!
many thanks!

Hi Dolores, if you go to a fabric shop you should be able to buy fabric glue, but this is very much like pva and probably what the shop lady had pointed out to you.
I usually just go for any superglue i can find, but then i quite often stick my fingers together or fancy bits to my forehead and such like.
If you find an alternative please let me know.

do NOT use super glue with diamante - it's horrrible, toxic stuff and it can discolour them too. Use fabric glue - uhu do a good one. If you live in London, the bead shop in Beak street do a very good one specifically for diamante.
Good luck!

Hang on! The fabric glue I have specifically states that I'm not supposed to dryclean it (I got it at the bead shop by Carnaby Street - I think it's Kingly St). Is there some glues you can use that can be drycleaned because I do not relish the idea of handwashing a full-length mermaid-style dress with 2 layers of tulle

For my costume-making I have been using some fabric glue I bought on ebay - its pretty sturdy and dries clear, although its only suitable for hand-washed items not dry-cleaning. Its called Original Hi-Tack All Purpose Very Sticky Glue (phew, what a mouthful!) but I'd recommend it.
