is any one here putting on any burlesque shows at the festival this year? or perhaps perhaps performing in one?
i saw the crooked mirror cabaret a couple of years ago and c venue and i have to say it was rather super.
anyone know of anything else at the festival that might also be of interest?

Edinburlesque....cool huh?
Funny, I was going to ask that question yesterday. I picked up a brochure and there was Electric Cabaret which promised burlesque as well as a few other shows.if anyone's interested, I would like to take a show up next year, incorporating burlesque among other things.

I went to the IOW festival, and thety had a bar there called the pussy parlure, which was supposed to have a cabaret thing with burlesque, but either it didn't happen, or it started really late, because I didn't didn't see any! Dissapointed! Oh well, apparently they might be at the Glade festival, so I guess I might see them there.

Vanity Kills told me about a few she was going to:
-The Skin of the Moon
-La Clique
-Caesar Twins
-The Powder Room
-The Cave of the Golden Calf
-The Midnight Carousel
She asked me along, so I'll probably be gointg to a couple, too.
Also Club noir are doing a thing at Electric Cabaret on the 12th of August, which should be most excellent.
Dunno if this is any help to you, hon. Hope so! XxX

I went to the Crooked Mirror Cabaret show during the 2004 festival - it was the first burlesque show I'd ever been to and I have to say I had the best time. I've been to other shows/venues since and I think that the C venue was perfectly suited.
I'll definitely check out the festival guide and look for the shows you mentioned, Ashe.

I've been to Vaudeville when they came to Glasgow and it was excellent. I'll definitely be going through for it, it runs form Aug 6 at 11pm all the way through the festival so plenty of opportunity.
I understand there is also some kind of operatic burlesque things happening and some circus acts, which I'll search for again.
