Default What are they called?

When I went to the Press Launch of Volupte there were two girls on the door. One of them had these really cute little gloves/cuffs and I'm after a pair - but I don't know what they are called!

They're even less than fingerless gloves because they don't come up to the fingers. But they are more than cuffs, as they do include the thumb.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? And can you help?

Thank you

aX

I dont know what you call them but i used to make my own. If theres a girl heaven near you pick up some tiny wristbands for a pound or two and cut holes for the thumbs. They're so tiny that they'l fit round the base of your palms. If your looking for something more madonna-esk, try buying girls lace comunion gloves. Alterantivley have a search through some vintage/charity shops, they usually have a good selection of little gloves and they're inexpensive so it wont break your heart to cut them up and make a mess.

Hope this helps.

Thank you! I hadn't thought of customising a pair of gloves (just got stumped trying to work out how to make a pair from scratch!)

As for what they are called - I was thinking that they should be called 'gantlettes' or 'gantettes', seeing as they are fancy little gloves!

I did some searching and found that someone refers to them as gauntlets (but then found that that can refer to all manner of gloves but mainly the arm warmer sort.)

I've got my eye on a cheap pair on ebay that I can cut up and hopefully make into my first pair of gantlettes.

Thanks for your help!
