32E bullet bras & first corsets
We do a 32E bullet bra, no problems! (whatkatiedid.com)
For buying your first corset, if you're unsure I really recommend trying one on in a shop where you can get advice and help with trying on. Although we include an instruction card with all of our corsets you'd be amazed at the amount of people who don't bother reading it then send the corset back saying it's too small - if only they had undone the lacing at the back!
If you're on a tight budget, go for black - which as has been stated, can be customized easily and goes with nearly everything. Also, although the financial outlay is painful, a good corset should last for years - I've got some I've been wearing 10 years and counting.
I'd be quite wary of buying on Ebay as many 'corsets' on their aren't corsets at all (another reason for going to a shop and looking at one closely, so you'll learn what you're looking for) - but there are some bargains to be had. If you do find one you like on Ebay be sure to ask about sizing (you should be buying 2 to 4 inches below your normal waist measurement, if the corset is advertised as a dress size forgetaboutit!), about boning - you want spiral steel boning not plastic, and about lining - corsets should at least be made from two layers of fabric for strength (ours have three layers plus reinforcement around the waist). If you're really going for it, ask if it's got two piece eyelets at the back, any corset made by someone who knows what they're doing will have them.
Finally, different corsets suit different body types so the style you pick might depend on whether you're a vintage in and out shape, or a modern straight up and down. Our cincher corset, mentioned above, is really only suitable for a vintage figure as it really cinches the waist.
