New member, Help wanted...HAIR

Hey Chicka's.am brand spanky new to the site *checks watch* bout 15 mins actually. Any hooooooow.Am planning a 40's style Burlesque outfit for my next foray into the fetish scene, have the clothes etc sorted but I have hair issues.I have long (elbow length) very thick hair and I do not know what to do with it, It's too heavy for a full on bun effect and curls won't stay in unless they are chemically burned in (permed!) so any idea's?, sites for for how to, demo's etc.I can cheat and use a hat (have a mini top and a half full size topper) but I'd like to try something with out first.

back comb the centre and fold and roll the sides up and over into either Victory rolls or quiffs.

Since your hair is long, you will need to do a lot of spraying and backcombing to give it enough lift.

This takes practice so experiment before the night in question!

If all fails, invest in a hair piece as you can mess around with those till the cows come home, and not end up with aching arms, sticky hair and an impatient taxi.

Ponytails are very 50's too, so don't rule them out!

Hi my mum had very similar hair and she used to give herself a bee hive style hair doo using rolled up tights. She would pin this to the top of her head and then pull her hair over it the top and pin it in and then spray loads to finish. It means you dont have to back comb your hair and can make it pretty high.
