Fan problems..
I bought some fans over at ostrich.com, filled out the form, entered my two required colours and submitted the form. The day after i recieved mail from them saying i didn't pick the colours i required, so i replied to the stating the colours. The day after i recieved another mail, from a different name at ostrich.com saying i didn't give the colour, i replied again, the next mail i got from them had a statment, saying the subtotal of the fans $280.00 - shipping $34.00
Yet on the order form it said the fans were only $230. Might not be much to some people, but i'm a student and i was using my bros c.card. So anyhow, i mailed them back about the mistake, this is the reply i got.
The fans are $280.
If you have any furtyher questions please email me back.
Best regards,
Ani
Could i get some advise on replying to that? I would be very grateful.

Seemingly it was cheaper to buy them in $$$ than £££ thats the only reason i went there, but now i find out they're being sent from the UK so i should have just bought them at Sugar Sugar!

Give them a phone, (01625 432462) Tell them exactly what you told us. If you can also be in front of your computer at the time so you can refer to and forward emails confirming payment price etc. They will be able to sort it out/explain it for you.
They are the only ones who can help you with this.
I found them really good, I asked them massive amounts of questions about where the ostriches were farmed, the conditions, the laws, moulting, plucking, environmental impact, economic sustainability etc. they were very pacient and helpful.

I had a very ambiguous and almost bipolar experience of ordering there!
It took quite a bit of effort to get the order placed and there was a time restriction for me too, as i needed them for a job in Ireland.
After speaking with someone who was friendly, about my needs, they confirmed that i'd definatley receive them within the time limit.
They did not show up. When i called i got no answer, i called several times and sent several e-mail before i got a reply.
Eventually they did react with good ethics and made a point of sending them recorded delivery, next day guaranteed and i got them just before I left the UK.
So my experience was mixed. On the one hand they did deliver what was required and were friendly, but it was like pulling teeth at one point.
I also agree that Cocoa is your gal for fans.
Alternatively purchase some lolly or waxing sticks, a bunch of ostrich feathers, wire thread and a big bolt and clear your diary for two days.

I ordered from there and didnt have a problem except for the package it came in. The tape was all over the feathers and I had to take them off carefully to not rip anything off.I was a bit upset, but they were fine. I cant believe that happened to you nice ladies. I guess I will not order from them again since their service isnt the best. Do any of you know any other places online to order feather fans?
Please let me know darlings!

Thanks for the advice, i mailed them back and asked them to break it down, seemingly the fans are being mailed from the Uk. If they sent them from the US the price would be $365.00 - because of the export shipping, documentation to the EU, customs, USDA
permit, duties and tax for shipment would cost $135.00. pretty steep.
Next time i'm just going to get fans off Cocoa
