Sorry about that - we TOTALLY FORGOT the best dressed person competition and as a result, we now have a packet of Walkers Pickled Onion Monster Munch which is still waiting to be won.

Still, £1 off cheesy chips is a much better prize!

Ooh 'eck, don't say that, the next thing that will happen is that Madeline from Flash Monkey will send us another long winded email rant where she accuses us of posting that message under a pseudonym!

We will let you know more when we know ourselves - all I do know is that it's in a big country club and we're utilising the inside and the gardens too.

But before that, we've got another Flirt next month too.

Everyone who performed also had a great time and i think we all have a soft spot for Tony Clifton now! OOOh that spangly pink jacket.

Dusty was indeed a showstopper (and starter), heartbreaker and all round legend as always.

Cocoa was exceptionally elegant and graceful as she fandanced and smiled that dazzling smile of hers.

Amber was an instant hit and really took the room by storm - she is a true showgirl and wonderfully talented professional.

Marianne was simply beautiful and literally put the Geisha in the Geisha bar!

Red Sarah knocked us all for six, with the Marie Antoinette style poi twirling, tassel twirling masterpiece. Seeing the white poi twirling above her head in time with her tassels doing the 'helicopter' was awesome.

This Is Elvis - need i say more? We all LOVE our own Elvis. He really is the one true King.

Cherri and Daiquiri were excellent.

Cherri's bump 'n' grind shenanigans proved that she lives up to her name 'Shakewell'.

Daiquiri was adorable and oozed a grace of the light hearted frolicking fun that makes Burlesque so popular. It was Daiquiri's first ever live show and she is now a star in the making!

El Nino was of course, essential and magnificent as always. All hail El Nino!

The Geisha staff again were great and so many thanks to Susi (Eternal SPirits) and Ash of the Geisha for a great night.

The next official MoB night in Nottingham is the Burlesque Ball in Blotts Country Club on 21st July. The Geisha Bar and Eternal Spirits will be promoting that too.

There might be another Flirt in Geisha Bar next month but we aint sure of the date yet.

xx
ah sighh.it all sounds so fabulous, im glad it went well id love to get the chance to perform at one, especialy if the event is to go monthly.ive done a few bits and pieces at the BGWMC, it would be lovely to go further a field & perform in Nottingham. Are you the lovely lady to speak to about this, or do all performers have to be rather experienced?if so il definatly just go anyway to the next one to watch, it sounds great!

Sorry to burst your bubble, James but having been to Blott's Country Club a couple of times myself, I'd hesitate to call it 'big'. It's nice enough but doesn't look all that grand, but neither is it a hole. It's pretty popular with student balls here in Nottingham but can be a bit of a pain to get to, so i'd think arranging some sort of coach transport would be a good idea. Just managing expectations, don't mean to be negative at all!

If Flirt is anything to go by, I'm sure a grand time will be had by all.

Well I have found a few pics of it on Google and can imagine myself playing croquet potatoes on the vast lawns drinking lavish cocktails!

And if these Blotts waiters are anything to go by:

They seem game for a bit of dressing up! xxx

Sorry, when I said 'big' I actually meant 'bigger than Geisha'.

The idea is that everybody will get their own table and be served a banquet too. People will be able to watch the entertainment in comfort. You don't need to worry about the way it looks either - it's all in hand. .

The other good thing about Blotts is that we will be able to make use of the gardens for our trapeze and fire performers. These guys often have problems performing indoors due to buildings insurance reasons etc.

This was actually the first thing we thought of. We're going to have coaches which take people to and from the venue - hopefully from Nottingham AND London. This will mean that everyone is free to indulge in a merry tipple.

Of course, Blotts also has a big car park too - which will be suitable for the non-drinkers who wish to drive.

Glad you enjoyed it - I'm a bit annoyed that I couldn't wear my inflateable sumo outfit for longer than the first ten minutes, but it was incredibly hot inside the thing. At one point I was talking with DJ El Nino and he split into TWO El Ninos and the room started spinning - which was when I realised that it was time to change!

Hi Vaudeville Ruin,

I'm glad you are intrigued by our fair game of Battle of Burlesque or 'the BoB awards' as Paul Zenon calls it.

E-mail me with some images, any footage and descriptions of what you'd intend to do.

It's all in the name of fun and as Gemraa rightly noticed, we design events to have as much audience interaction as possible.

We hate the 'us and them' scenario - it's burlesque, cabaret and an all round good time showcase, not a 'sit quiet and appreciate the subtlety of the performing arts' affair.

I love ballet, opera and physical theatre but I always itch to join in, or fluff up the tutus. :?

Anyhoo, as i said, it's all about having a good time and feeling good about the simple pleasure of feeling good.

Hope you all had a spectacular time.

Was planning on coming but have just finished putting my first show together with Boswall and hadn't realised how much wrapping up there was to do after you have packed everything away (that reminds me I have some decor to take down still, Bugger) anyway long and short of it is I was too busy to come, Oh well. The new venue looks interesting and I like the idea of parking. Us country bumpkins have to drive everywhere.

Much love

JP
