Your fave bands and songs....
As there are so many creative people on here, I'd love to hear who some of your fave bands and songs are?
I'm always looking for great new music to listen to.
Some of the stuff I'm listening to at the moment include Californian rock band Dishwalla, The Caesars, Kristian Leontiou, Goldfrapp, The Raveonettes, The Distillers, Macy Gray, The Warriors movie soundtrack.and Abba!
And I love chillout stuff by the likes of Enigma, Amethystium and Lesiem.

im becoming rather obsessed with the wonderful Edith Piaf at the moment, and Tom Waits. And i have to listen to the 8o's Matchbox B-line disaster at least once a day! also uber cute 'gothabilly' band zombina and the skeletons-kind of like if Hello Kitty got bitten by Dracula and went to audition for the Beach Boys, not before stopping to chat to the Cramps.

Swing...
Found some Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, found some Squirrel Nut Zippers . decided to get some Royal Crown Revue and Indigo Swing while I was at it ! Then got out my old Stray Cats stuff!
Some Voodoo Daddy is quite salsa-y, which is quite apt as I've just had some salsa lessons - I was pretty hopeless at remembering all the steps. The class was fun tho - 20 ladies and 2 men!
Couldn't find any Zombina anwhere on the web tho.
Anyone else got any cool music to recommend?

Angelo Badalamenti ! anytime. I love his creations.
I am also partial to Tom Waits, Glen Miller, Depeche Mode, Marilyn Manson and a bit of Kraftwerk too. I like strong rhythms, unpredictable melodies and intelligent lyrics.
I generally hate pop music.
I love classical music - Tchaikovsky, Verdi, Bach.
Also on a more 'neo' classical note, Philip Glass. I adore his Akhenaten pieces and am constructing a new Egyptian inspired fandance around 'Akhenaten and Nefertiti'.
I used to get totally creeped out by Barber Shop Quartets but since the cartoon Family Guy's repeated use of the two vaudeville guys ("Play me away Johnny!") and the Barber Shop Quartet who erm, tell it like it is, i've grown rather fond of it.

For those whose penchant is the darker side of Rockabilly can I offer you Necromantix - the Cramps on mescaline - whose classic album Return of the Living Dead is available on eMusic

I really should stop perusing these forums, but as I'm on my PC half the day every day, I can't help myself!
I'd heard of 80s Matchbox B-Line Disaster before, but had never actually checked em out before - they're marvellous! My order has gone into Amazon!
