Due to the success of our first night (huge thank you to Miss Golden de Licious, Miss Lili La Scala and Miss Pink & Fluffy) - we are planning more burlesque noir nights in Cambridge and are looking for suitable performers.
Dates confirmed so far: Friday 5th December 2008 & Saturday 31st January 2009.
We are looking for the darker side of burlesque (e.g. Miss Lili did a glass walk for us), music / clientele is the rock / goth / fetish end of the spectrum... so if your act is feather boas and cocktails dahhling, then you probably need to contact Salon Rouge at the Junction, we are more 'Black Leather and a Bloody Mary'.
3 things must ye know!
(1) --- We are still in startup, so cannot pay very much - we can accomodate you if required but not run to hotel accomodation - and the venue is the other side of town from the train station.
(2) --- Our stage is very small due to venue size restrictions - we will be trying a T-stage in December: the back section is 4m across by 1m wide, with a catwalk section in the middle 3m long by 1m wide.
(3) --- somewhat amusing, this one; we were given use of the Director's Suite (venue is the function suite of Cambridge United) as a dressing room for performers last time; the problem, in one word, was 'GLITTER'
The whole of the Director's Suite was coated with it... even after it had been hoovered 5 times, one of the Directors managed to get some on his suit and then go to a posh Directors-type meeting where it was noted and commented on! So we have to give United a 'No Glitter' pledge if performers are to use that room again.
PM me if any interest...
