    Post My Burlesque Year...

As the new year creeps ever closer I have the growing feeling of nostalgia for the year we are about to leave behind.

This year has been significant for me in many ways.
Stop me if I get overly sentimental, but it has been a year in which the world of Burlesque has had an amazing impact on me. Last year I was just at the start of my burlesque journey and now a year on I am a fully fledged fanatic.

I have been to many amazing shows over the year, and have been privledged to see a wealth of incredible talent across the burly community both in the UK and from around the world.

Over the year I became more intimate with the community and began to make many new friends, fans and performers alike. I saw just what a wonderful world the revival of Burlesque has created and the people in it have changed and continue to change my life and may they do so for many years to come.

I also got in on the act quite accidentally when a course I took gave me an opportunity to sitdown and think "Wouldn't it be nice to make a radio show about Burlesque ?" and before you know it I am now a podcaster with my own show: Tassel Time. A year ago I barely knew the term podcast and now this show with its rather silly little name has taken me from where I was at the beginning of this year, working in a dull office, to eating oatcakes with Captain Sensible backstage at a Damned gig.

The most important thing to me is that through Burlesque I met the wonderful lady in my life who makes me happy every moment of every day.

Burlesque has given me so much enjoyment this year and now it's time for me to give a little back.

    Happy New Year everyone!

    DG

P.S. Stay Tuned for Tassel Time Episode Three

ive learnt so much from burlesque this year. To trust. And not to trust. When where how and why.
Ive learnt people reps do not always ring true. and ive learnt to love and hate.

If burlesque were a person. Id marry them.
