What Were Your Burlesque Highlights Of 2007
2007 has been a year of highlights for MoB. As well as launching our workshops and DVD, we've also been involved in many production projects which keep getting bigger and bigger and we've seen the rise of many new up-and-coming performers.
A personal highlight for Kittie and I was when we flew over to Las Vegas to judge this years Miss Exotic World pageant. Burlesque is now big time!
What do you all have as your burlesque highlights of 2007?WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

My highlights in burlesque would have to be doing the Battle of Burlesque in March and running my first burlesque night, Just Desserts, in December. Both were hugely exciting in very different ways. I've made so many new friends and become a much happier person this year. I hope next year is even better!

The Candy Box has spoiled me this year, with great acts such as Missy Malone , Kitten On The Keys , Imelda May , Mysti Vine, Scarlet Fever , Red Sarah , Lily Dumont , the Candied Heels and who could forget the Immodesty Blaize performance, as well as everyone else that performed. The cream of Burlesque all under one roof (like toys r us but for grown ups!) My Candy Box highlights were Missy Malone 's Jack Frost, Casanova 's Pink Panther, Lily Dumont 's Clown act and seeing Kitten on the Keys twice in one year!
Thanks everyone for making it a great 2007 for burlesque , here's to 2008

Candybox creme de la creme
I just don't know what to do with myself now the Candybox is on hiatus. I feel all lost with no outfit to plan! :-( Al and Saffron really deserve a rest as they have worked so hard over the past couple of years, and I'm sure the many regulars will join me in saying a massive THANK YOU for bringing burlesque to Birmingham. There have been so many highlights, but the wonderful Dirty Martini was a particular favourite - I have never seen a glove more seductively peeled. I can totally understand why she inspired Saff to start up the club. The Wau Wau Sisters were insane genius too. The great live band - the Palookaville Orchestra - and Imelda May 's voice really made each night special. Saff and Al's attitude and team made it such fun and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. I have met some wonderful people there and seen some talented acts and hope to meet up again at whatever the Candybox becomes in the future. xxx:WAVE:

I attended 8 Burlesque events in 2007, and I enjoyed each and everyone of them.
Seeing Diva Hollywood perform - she gets my vote for Best Female at the next Annual MoB Awards.
Knowing that my wife has been receiving great feedback from the people she has worked with or for.
Meeting lots of performers in the scene, so many of you people are genuinely nice people offstage.
Stage managing for such people as Des O'Connor and Ophelia Bitz . Really cool MoBstars wth tons of talent.
Watching Immelda May, dressed as Devil, singing 'Sympathy for the Devil'. Priceless!

My burlesque highlights of the year would have to be:
Performing for my first time, theres no rush like it!
Seeing Dita at erotica
Making some fantastic new friends, (esp Miss Mina)
And more than anything performing with my troupe with great success.
Looking forward to what 2008 will entail, many bookings in the pipeline already and hopefully the chances to journey on up from Plymouth to see some of burlesques top performers and fantastic amatures.
Take care everyone xxx

The highlights of my year would have to be:
Candybox. I am gutted that I only made it to one, but it was such a brilliant night I will never forget.
The High Tease Glasgows. It’s great that MoB manage to bring up some of the best performers to a Scottish audience that wouldn't normally be able to make it down south to see them.
My first Burlesque performance at Just Desserts. Thanks to Special Sunday for letting me and my ridiculous shoes on stage-it was a great night!
Hopefully '08 will have more performance opportunities for me and I will finally be graduating uni....and I may be off to Japan!

2007 has been an awesome year, too many good points to list! Some of my fave have been:
*Becoming a MobStar (february)
*Making my American debut (may)
*Being nominated for Best Newcomer in the MoB Awards (may)
And just generally getting more gigs and meeting lots of cool new people! Can't wait for next year, I graduate too and I'm not sure what will happen next!
