Thanks for getting back to me.
Hope the north/south battle is settled and no one got hurt :-)
The problem isn't usally the price of the shows, it's money getting there (petrol) and the biggist cost HOTELS/B'n'B's! Espically london and i never know where to get a hotel in london and would end up miles away from the venue, i do love london and wish i could go there more often but i've need my sat nav on me for every step.
I may just need a bigger car to sleep in...

I've often heard that, but still don't quite believe it...perhaps it's because Venice is more compact and Birmingham is much more sprawly, hence more miles. Birmingham deffo doesn't feel as watery.
Aaaaanyway, back to the actual topic - fetish and burlesque ....you gotta remember how wide the fetish world is (tries hard not to think of lubed up baseball bat). People all too often think fetish=bdsm. Simply the appearance of stockings and heels are going to get a lot of certain fetishists very excited.....I'm sure they've been sitting/standing in burlesque audiences for a long time and you've never even noticed them.....how can you tell someone transfixed on a lady's legs and feet from someone being just as entertained by the rest of her body or the total package of the routine.
Just because you're noticing more people in latex, doesn't mean fetish hasn't already been merged with burlesque for ages. And having seen the types of clothing you can get now (I'm thinking the dresses Honey Lulu and Anna Fur Laxis were wearing at the finale of the last Candy Box) gosh, I'd be wearing it if I could afford it/fit into it!!
I think any place that fetish in all its many guises (I'm very partial to mohair/angora fetish pics myself) can be welcomed as not something to be scared of and more 'normal'....hang on what am I saying, who wants to be a 'normal'?!! ok more 'accepted' then I think this can only be a good thing! The Russian Doll Lass - like Shrek's onion, but with sequins...

Well put Tempest. The UK fetish and Burlesque secenes have been covering communal ground for a good long time now; I fisrt discovered Immodesty Blaize in the pages of Skin Two and knew of Dita as a fetish model long before I knew she did burlesque .
I guess it jsut depends where you are, I know lots of performers who's early shows where in fetish clubs, and lots who have never been to a fetish event in their lives. Britian is, after all, a small place, and so scenes do merge a lot, which is great because you get some really dynamic and exciting fusions going on.
