First Class - now want more
Morning All. a total newbie here:wave:
i attended my first workshop on Sunday courtesy of my OH. Now i'm getting addicted to it - not sure if i want to perform but i would love to know about more classes in Glasgow. So i'll apologise now if i start asking strange/obvious questions
(and getting a decent burlesque name
)
and yes Viva - you have got me doing the showgirl every time i stop as well as pulling some really cheesy faces!
and I'm looking into the showgirls head dresses - always up for a challenge
looking forward to getting to know you allWARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Good for you! You have started right - Viva is an absolutely amazing teacher, we are so lucky to have her in Scotland and I put the strength of our burlesque scene squarely down to her and Gypsy's influence.
If you fancy performing , I am organising a performance night for beginners at the Panopticon on 4th December, Will be posting more details about it soon, but basically the audience attends by invite only so it's a great place to make your debut in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. PM me if you would like more details!

yup - have to agree - Viva is great and the class was full of laughs. the panoptican sounds a great night but don't think i could perform after 5 hrs of taster session!

Well if Dawn Porter did it I don't see why not!
Oh, and that dawn woman from the Sex Education Show did it too, but the less said about her, the better!

Glad to see you started out with the best!
Gypsy and Viva are probably the best things that have ever happened to the Scottish Burlesque scene so you've definitely started out on the right foot!
If you fancy getting to know a bit more about Burlesque - Rhymes with Purple are also very good and they have a workshop running in Glasgow on 29th November if you fancy coming along (you'll need to book a place but I think there are still some left) - also the MoBsters who are going are having a little meet up before we go along to the class , it'd be lovely if you'd come along and say hi to us all in person! :excited:
It's also before Panopticon so if you want to try your hand at performing there you'll be able to get some training in prior to going on stage! :twothumbs:

sounds great but i've got to work on the 29th which is a right a bummer cos i wd have love to been there. I would love to meet the MoBsters though - when are you all meeting up and where - but you'll have to forgive me in advance being in normal gear. YOu all sound a great friendly bunch (from whom i can get inspiration):hug:
Somehow at much as i'm excited at the thought of performing - it scare me witless to do it on the little training that i have had though never say never!
