Thread: Glove emergency!

I wish I could wear leather gloves ... my fingers are long and I've never found a pair that fits! The only reason I can wear evening gloves on stage is that I found a pair of stretchy satin ones - the only pair of gloves I've ever had that fit nicely!

I got some lovely leather driving gloves from New Look, couldn't find them online but they are def in store, they're like these ones except in black leather with patent bow (much nicer!):

Also saw these, pretty cool:
Shimmer Gloves
Long black satin gloves from John Lewis:

Don't mind the price tag cos they last for years & years (unlike cheap ones I bought that came unstiched the first time I wore them!

At least you could buy kids' gloves then - or teenagers'
I went through a phase of wearing fingerless gloves because I couldn't find any with fingers to fit me (plus on my Astronomy course I was told fingerless gloves were the best for us, because they kept our hands warm whilst meaning we could manipulate delicate telelscope controls without losing sensitivity in our fingers). I bought some of the super cute Accessorize ones with the mitteny bit you can pull over your fingers. But my hands were too big and I got holes in the palms and the mitteny bits. Le sigh ...

*Sigh* I'd love to have small, cute, feminine hands! Although my big man hands are extremely useful in some cases (I was damn good at silver service because I could hold the plates and trays easily, holding bulky fan staves is easy) they're a hindrance in many others (not being able to play the violin any more because my fingers overshoot the fingerboard), and it's always disheartening the first time someone notices and exclaims 'Oh my god, you've got MASSIVE hands!!'
