I personally dont mind which name people use, but Glorian is more unique so its easier really, and probably just easier all the way to stick to stage names. I had a strange moment in a car the other day with two other performers where during one converstaion, one was calling me my given name, and the other calling me Glorian and Glor. I am legion.

I don''t really mind either which name people use, and I feel the same as Hettie Heartache in the way that I don't keep my real name too much of a secret. I think it's just really up to the performer.

What a fun thread!
My burlesque persona is my alter ego- the superman to the Clark Kent if you will...
Coco is the side of me that I can't embrace in my everyday-doings (at present, I work in an office... say no more!)
I graduated with a performance art degree and it's the only way that I can keep my creative side alive.
Always good to have a creative outlet...

im called snappy constantly - both by several close friends in the burley fraternity (who happen to also know my real name) and by customers who come into the library where i work (even though i wear my name badge!) and also happen to come to my shows (that was a bit odd at first but some people KEEP calling me snappy despite me pointing out my real name!luckily work is cool with what i do.)
I get the name shortened quite a bit too - 'snaps' or 'snappers' - thats a bit odd but then again so is the name snappy!saucy, sassy and very, very silly!

Me too! And it's a great way to do it! I keep super quiet about it at work tho, as I teach at a boarding school for young offenders. We have some very prudish and old fashioned members of staff!
I'm always called 'Miss' at work, just like any other female members of staff. Sometimes the kids get it wrong and say 'Sir' by mistake! That freaks me out because I worry for a second that I accidently went to work in my cross-dressing gear! (That's another thing work know nothing about!!)

Yes, but Pinky has been my nickname for years prior to it being my stage name!

What a really good thread

As I am a 'newbie', friends and family still refer to my real name but as time goes on, I am hoping that my stage name will kick in at some point! Funnily enough my stage name merges my first name and surname so I use the initials AM to sign of emails/texts. 'Diahann' is my aunt's name so keep it in the family so to speak! Like some of you lovely ladies, I like to keep the two sides of me separate for work purposes as I am unsure of reaction. I am working towards to embrace my pin up/burlesque life full time.
