Would it look silly and unprofessional to print them off myself and just hand out paper ones for now?

Hey babe, go to vistaprint, you can get free business cards, fliers etc, you just pay the postage!
Hand printed business cards dont do your image any favours in my opinion- they never look polished enough, and it gives an impression of making do! but Im possibly just a business card snob...

Beware of Vistaprint - they have a scam going where they sign you up to a 'promotion' where they take £9.99 a month from your account. They then tell you you agreed to this.
I got caught by this over a year ago and can assure you I did not agree to it!
Anyone using Vistaprint please check your statement for suspicious debits. Mine was under the name VPREWARDS.COM.
Shame, cos my business cards from them were fab!
Loads of people were conned.More info here:

moo.com are brilliant, they're pretty cheap too if you look at the other companies and they offer a lot more, too.
Their paper is sustainably resourced, and you can get cards that are made from recycled paper and that aren't coated at all which is nice. I've only ever ordered the sustainable (not recycled) ones and they are very nice quality.
You can order as few as fifty I think, and in any print run you can have as many different designs as you like - I ordered something like 250 last time I think, and in that run I have about ten different designs which is great for me as my illustrations can be pretty varied in style. It also means that clients get excited about choosing which card they want - like it's a collectable.
They really are good, and their delivery times are minimal, there are no hidden costs unlike some other companies (bad experience with goodprint.com). They also do minicards, postcards, greetings cards... loads of stuff.
My god I should be a sales rep.

Ive used Vista print before and had no problems. Although in terms of professionalism I would suggest paying out for cards rather than getting the free ones. The back of the free business cards has 'Get free business cards from Vista etc etc' printed on them!

I've also heard lots of good things about Moo.com - several of my friends have had their mini business cards and rave about them. I shall be heading to them once my stash has run out!
