Has anyone had experience with this fan seller?
I'm looking at options for feather fans and have run into these on ebay - naturally as an impoverished student the price appeals, but I was wondering whether anyone's actually ordered from this seller before, and whether they are in fact, worth the bamboo they're mounted on?
Many Thanks!

Ok I've not got any feather fans, never bought from this seller but I have done a lot of research into feather fans (just being a student I also can't afford them). My impression is that those are probably not the best quality. For one thing if I'm not mistaken that price is for one single fan - not a pair. Another thing is by the looks of those photos they've taken one of those small marabou feather fans (normal size) and attached some bigger feathers, rather than actually attached the feathers to proper staves. I would think this would make the quality worse. Of course I'm no expert - but I just think you should be careful. If something looks too good to be true it often is.

Hi Evelyn,
I am selling a pair of turquoise ostrich fans if you are interested. They are from Ostriches online and originally cost around £200.

Yep, they've definitely just stuck big feathers onto existing fans (the type you can pick up for a fiver in Ann Summers).
They might be fine for practice fans, but they don't look the best quality to me.
It's well worth shelling out on a pair that you know will be good quality.Snowflakes and Sparkles

I actually have got these in purple and the price is for 1 fan but they arrived quickly and they seem ok to me.... I am jsut practicing at the mo and they are holding up well to that.
I'm no expert but honestly I am happy with them however I can not tell you how long they will last as I've only had them a few weeks.
ohh but the seller was good and contact was good and I got them in a matter of a few days after payment

I actually bought some pale pink fans from this seller recently. They are really beautiful. Here is the link to the blue ones that are the same as mine, except I asked them to use clear staves, the seller has great communication. Which surprised me, and it only took a a week to get them from China to Australia.
30"x54" Double-layer Blue Ostrich Feather Fan Dance + on eBay (end time 02-Mar-10 07:15:30 GMT)
I personally wouldnt get the mara-ostri ones, but I LOVE my full Ostri ones, they are so pretty, and fluffy. And a friend of mine has some from Ostriches online, and quite honestly you cant tell the difference between them, except hers had a higher price tag!
Oh and I should add, I paid about $240 AUD inc postage for a pair, my friends cost over $400AUD from the UK

Thanks so much for all the responses! I suspect I shall wait and ponder on it and see whether I can afford some of the slightly swishier ones in due course
Practically perfect in every way...

I have a black pair of their fans with plastic staves... They were delivered really quickly, looked amazing and have held up well, aside from the screw holding the staves together, which came off after only a few uses (and I had to search the carpet with a fine toothed comb to find it!!). But you can stop this happening by putting a blob of really strong glue in the screw cap and then screwing it on. It won't stop them opening and closing and it hasn't come loose again either.

oh yes, they send you a little gift of a bookmark with them - it made us laugh!!
