I think as long as it is tongue-in-cheek, and the swastika pasties are part of the punchline to the whole performance, you should be fine. As long as there is enough piss taking of the Nazi sensibilities then the routine shouldn't be too controversial.

Hello love
Yes, it's true - I have an act where I strip out of an SS Officer's uniform down to Swastika pasties. It was originally satirising the Max Moseley scandal but has since been adapted to carry a WWII theme after I was asked to perform it at a Blitz-themed show.
To be honest, when I perform it, it can go both ways - sometimes it goes down really well and at others you can hear the unease in the audience. I have also been pinned in a corner afterwards and harangued by an angry man. A lady actually emailed me the other week and asked me to explain my motives to her after she saw the act and was offended. I did so, and found it a great opportunity to remind myself why I created the act and why I believe it is important that a). burlesque is more than pretty fluff - it should be challenging and provocative, and b). that art/performance/comedy should challenge all subjects and interrogate them. Personally, I believe it is important to laugh at Hitler and all the other evil bastards who have proved themselves beyond contempt - something that was very clearly understood by WWII propagandists.
Anyway, my advice, for what it's worth, is follow your heart but be prepared for criticism as well as praise.
Glory xx

thanks hunny, ive now performed this act several times and it has gone down a storm...i think as you say it depends on sevral things, venue, audience and theme of the evening. it is certainly not an attempt to glorify anything, in fact it is decidedly satirical and very tongue in cheek...most of the audiences have loved it so far but as ever i am always prepared for the worst then when something postive crops up ita alsways a lovely bonus....thanks so much for your input, it is very much appreciated. xxx
