Has everyone seen this? Cosplay Burlesque

Robot vs Badger – Finding the weird and interesting so you don't have to! Star Wars Burlesque Show
It's awesome, and they (Devils Playground) have done loads of cool burlesque themes, like, Cakes and superheroes and also villains. What does everyone think of themed or cosplay burlesque ? Do you prefer it to the classic themes?WARNINGWarning: This is an Old Thread

Meh - pretty bland bump and grind with a vaguely geek theme to be honest. I certainly didn't feel the force!

There are some more links and things in this thread - http://www.ministryofburlesque.com/b...burlesque.html
including a video I posted over from youtube... I agree with Dr Neil, the dancing is pretty uninspiring and basic, and woefully unimaginative (Jabba was a good idea, but I feel it could probably have been done even better).
However, the costumes are so freaking awesome I wish I had the money to buy at the storm trooper and Boba Fett ones... though Threepio terrifies me, lol.

I quite like it, although i am a massive geek myself. I like that they mix it up a bit, it may be less elegant but i think if you treat it as the bit of fun that it was intended as, it's a win win??

who needs that when you can have Dalek Burlesque ?

actually it's very difficult to tell whether it's particularly entertaining being chopped up like that and to Stand & Deliver (why?) rather than original backing - it does look a bit samey bump & grind. I'd like to see the Darth Vader performance as was original.
If anyone's into geek burlesque (I'm not sure we'd call it Cosplay Burlesque in the UK) you should check out this:

and I'm just trying to find the vids on Veoh from the Candy Box May the 4th Be With You....oh perhaps their not online anymore
Actually just been watching the video properly - isn't this the troupe who used to have a show at Bordello in LA before Chris Beyond and Scarlett Letter took over the Peepshow Menagerie?Last edited by tempest devyne; 02-01-2010 at 08:39 PM.
