Hi, I'm looking to start doing burlesque and similar performance arts...
I was wondering how you all got into it, and if you have any tips for me.

I haven't done any burlesque shows, but I spin fire poi for fun at festivals and usually draw a crowd. I love the costumes of burlesque and the liberating feel of performing .

I know a girl who is interested in starting a troupe (and she probably knows a couple more), but its not something we have done before. Would it be best to find some more experienced ladies to join us, or should we just have a go and see what happens?

Also, another quick question, what are the must-haves for a burlesque dancer just starting up?
