Oh that woman drives me mad!!
It's the pro-life thing that really gets my back up. If you don't believe in abortion, that's absolutely fine, don't get an abortion. Just like people who don't believe in eating meat are vegetarian.
But don't make A LAW to stop abortions! I can think of so many reasons why people would NEED abortions:
- If they do not have the right quality of life to offer a child (eg: little money or are a young age)
- If it would cause health problems to the mother and/or child.
- And how about all those women who fall pregnant after being raped? Is it right to expect them to carry their attacker's baby inside them for nine months as a constant souvenir, then go through further pain when it comes to actually giving birth to the child.
The thing about being pro-choice is that it is about CHOICE. The clue is in the title. It is not about "murdering babies". It gives freedom to the individual to choose. If, for whatever reason, they cannot go through with the pregnancy that is up to them. If, on the other hand, you don't believe in abortion and want to keep the baby then that is also up to you.
And so many pro-life campaigners are people who haven't been in a situation that desperate! How could they possibly understand what it is like to be in that kind of state?
Sorry for my rant there. It is just something that I feel very passionately about.
