I think that secretary, librarian, waitress, frenchmaid type acts are quite cliched - as they conjour up stereotypical roles - but that said, isn't sending up stereotypes what burlesque is all about? Soooo, despite using these 'characters' you could be really innovative in how you put the act together, the twists, the turns and the revelations - and that is where the originality comes forth....
