Hi Miss Delightful, welcome to the glittering world of burlesque!

Thanks for the plug, Tempest

The Scottish scene is bustling and exciting and Tempest is right, the Dr Sketchy Birthday Party would be an excellent introduction to the scene in Glasgow.

Before then there is a a normal Dr Sketchy Glasgow session on the 27th of July, be sure to befriend us at MySpace to keep up to date on performers and news.

We also offer an open stage spot every now and again at Dr Sketchy Glasgow which allows burgeoning performers an opportunity to have a go at performing in front of an audience, again if you join us at MySpace you can keep abreast of when the next one will be.

I cannot recommend highly enough The Academy of Burlesque, Gypsy & Viva's classes are the definitive introduction to burlesque performance. They are reasonably priced, extremely friendly and everyone graduates happy and satisfied, I've never heard a bad word about them. In addition to all of that both Gypsy and Viva are trained, professional dancers who are fully qualified to teach the art which is really a very important factor to look for.

And after you've whet your appetite with The Academy of Burlesque you can hone your performance skills by doing a course with RwP Education.

There's also Rockaburley, run by Daiquiri Dusk & Cat Aclysmic. Then there is Spangled Cabaret - which is a great wee night that is very supportive of newcomers.

The above are ongoing, but during the Edinburgh Fringe be sure to check out The Bongo Cabaret Club, running for 16 nights and being produced by Wild Card Kitty (who also hosts and produces Dr Sketchy Edinburgh) and the MoB are producing Edinburgh High Tease at The VooDoo Rooms on the 7th, 8th & 9th of August - that's sure to be phenomenal.

Phew - think that's enough to be getting on with, hopefully see you around!
