It was common back in the day to see men in the CanCan line up, often in a tutu.
I'm a member of CanBootyCan (
Untitled Document) and have been high kicking for years with this line up of some 15 girls. The interest in cancan has soared immensely recently.
It really is a very high energy dance with a habit of stretching muscles you weren't sure were there in the first place!
Warm up Warm up Warm up! Practice and play with your flexibility throughout your day. Maybe not kicking lampshades but be aware and extend your muscles, Sit up straight

A cancan class shouldn't be limited to those with the legs of giraffes, there's many roles in the line up, whooping, posing and rarring are key elements too! It can be graceful and you may find ballet helps.
I'm holding a 6 week class in St Albans starting at the end of May, I will also be holding classes in Brighton. If there is interest in London, I can certainly run more classes there, previous ones were a Time Out favourite.
