I learned a bit about Barthes, but didn't really understnad it as we didn't go into much detail. Just a quick mention of the theory of myth. I was more into Structuralism and Saussure. And I didn't get to do the Fairytale module of my degree - having been born in May 1984 I was part of the Guinea Pig Year, and they carried that tradition on into my degree, meaning they decided to stop running every single module and alternate which ones they did run by year, which meant I not only missed out on the Fairytale (the reason i signed up to the course in the first place, grrr!) but also the next year missed British Children's Literature, with a reading list of Poter, Pullman, Narnia and Alice!
